The first one by a country mile as it is quad core, not dual core, but make sure you have an SSD for your system drive. Spinny system drives are intolerable. I've never tried a hybrid.

If it is a desktop machine I would be looking for an S Variant.

I am guessing though that you are looking at laptops. If so the QM is better.

The first thing I would do if I were to buy either of these though is to swap out the hard disk for an SDD. Faster and longer battery life.

Interesting read. So it wasn't as clear cut as I thought. The first one is still almost twice as fast, but if you would prefer to go ages on battery and don't care about performance, then the second one becomes more attractive.

I don't bother too much about large HD on a desktop as I always keep all files on external drives (important ones duplicated or triplicated on separate drives.). The built in HDD is just used for the OS and any other bits that have to be installed there.

aww come on guys. Unless you are a hardcore gaming person. does not matter now. bandwidth, bandwidth with reasonable PC or lappy!! If hardcore gaming person then go for playstation or whatever. Gave up upgrading my PC to cope with new games years ago. Play on basic on line games no problem!!
