problem thanking posts (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I don't know what I'm doing wrong , but Ive tried to thank a post this morning and when i click on "thanks" it doesn't Thank .
Then i get logged out of MHF without logging out?
Anyone know why?
Hope its nothing too techi

Automatically logging me out of MH fun if i press the thanks button.

Hi, that's very strange try a hard page refresh (hold ctrl and hit F5), that might work, but if it is logging you out then you may have a corrupt cookie.

Try clearing them and see if this helps.

How to clear cookies

1. Close all browser windows/tabs except for one with fun on.
2. IMPORTANT- Logout of fun, using the logout button ( top right)
3. Close the final browser window
4. Delete cookies, (See how to clear cookies >here)
5. Log back in and check the "Remember me?" box

I tried the ctrl f5 thing , didn't work.
When i thanked you and it logged me out again.

Thought id try it again , as the other way above is too complicated for me.
So did it a few times
It worked
What does it actually do , the ctrl f5 thing ??

There could be a cookie problem as the site wont "remember me" so i have to do the password thing every time.
Ill get our eldest son to have a go "cookie clearing" when hes back from school

If you are having to login each time you visit, then it is definitely a cookie issue. After we got hacked at Christmas we had to change the cookie salt. This is just a bit of code so we can remember you, trouble is your browser still has the old cookie which does not work. Once you clear cookies your browser will then collect a new one and you will find that everything is fine. Its not difficult. be a devil and give it a go

I haven't been able to thank for a couple of weeks again . Every time i tried i got logged out of mhf . Same problem when trying to alter MH details in garage .
Now i can, i haven't done anything , just started letting me again. I tried all the other suggestions above to no avail. So if anyone else had a problem , they might not now.
Is it to do with all the problems this morning?

Just looked and the details i put in about the Mizar( Blue details on avatar) They have Totally disappeared . Hope i dont have to write all that out again !!
