my lappy went sick last night and took a few hours to sort out but there is one problem i cant overcome.

Avast! antivirus will not turn on.

i tried to uninstall but it cant find part of the file so wont.

tried to re-download, which it does, but i get a couple of error messages, below, when i try to install.

I tried on chrome, firefox and IE9, and from the avast website and also Filehippo

anyone got any idea why it wont install or uninstall ?

no go Jim......Revo uses the Avasts own inbuilt uninstall files then searches for leftover files.

just minimised chrome and running behind is the revo app doing its job...i think

its now looking for left over files so i'll give it chance before trying anything else.

    phewww .. relief ..

Revo usually does a good job, wouldn't use anything else for uninstalling .. in saying that, most, probably all of my past problems have been caused by uninstalling unwanted software.. so now I just leave them alone .. less tears ..

Well... it could be a lot of things...
I will need more information to be able to help you:

Do you use a firewall? Which one?
Do you have any other antivirus installed in your system? Did you have in the past?
Any other security programs that could interfere?
