Bought this plug from Road Pro (just been delivered) to fit on my Endless Breeze fan.. so can be used in both types of sockets..

but what is this plastic lift up arm for.. ?

Can't figure it out .. and it's probably obvious..

I have often wondered what it is for too. Your post has made me think about it again. Perhaps it is there in case the red adapter collar comes off inside a cigarette lighter socket when you pull the plug out, then you could 'winkle' it out.

It's for extracting the red part from the cig lighter socket if it becomes detached from the plug. If that happens you'll be quite pleased they thought of it. I was.

can't see it myself.. the collar is bayonet fitting and quite tight..
