One thing about the stag.. You always know the fuel gauge is working ok, cos you can actually watch it drop if you get even slightly exuberant on the loud peddle !!

I've had a couple of Stags, you can watch the needle drop in a traffic jam, much the same as the even larger V8 I drive now! I just can't resist a V8 though.

He's not short of a few bob, Minxy. And after all, it's made round to go around. :xThumb:

And so, what was the final diagnosis on your Poxy??
Don't know yet for sure but it looks like the radiator and on the way back getting towed the ems locked out and I had no lights on the A1 being towed at 50

The wife said exactly the same one night in a lay by. :xThumb:
Won

Wonder if the berlingo would take the rover engine ?
Only if you took the rear seats out and threw the clamp in wheel chair away.

Replace the stag engine with a rover 3.5 then the stag is a fantastic motor.:xThumb:
That's true but you can never get the Rover engine to sound as good as the Triumph unit. By the way the Triumph engineers at the time said the Rover engine could not fit in the Stag, another case of the internal politics of British Leyland in the 70s.

I'd hazard a guess that it is the first one. On my Ford it was 15ok miles/5 years if a UK vehicle & 150k kilometres/ 5 years if Spanish ,Italian etc. Something to do with degradation in high temps.

Your right. The 1.6 HDI is 150,000. The standard 1.6 is 120 months. My 2.0 is 100,000, but it was changed at 86,000.
