Portugal Sagres (1 Viewer)

We are heading off to Portugal next week. Sailing Portsmouth /Santander Tuesday.
We intend spending a week or two to reach Sagres.
Our loose plans at the moment are to drive south of Salamenca and then head towards Portugal South of Lisbon.
Would be grateful of any good stop-over's either going down the coast or across country.
after Sagres intend going to Portamao and then Christmas in Abufeira.

We have just completed a very similar journey albeit we drove to Santander from Calais

We have stopped on some brilliant aires in Portugal, all of which are in the aires book and I might add that we have never had a single moments concern regarding safety. The Portuguese people all seem so friendly and welcoming oh and very well behaved in the towns at night compared with the yob infested towns back in England

Take a tip and calculate if it is wise or even economic to avoid the toll roads, we believe the fuel saving goes a long way to off setting the toll charges

We are now parked up at Parque da Grace near to Albuferia at 6.50 euros per night including electric and free wifi

Chickenrun camping

If you are going near Portimao pop in to the chicken run. We stopped there recently and had a great time.

Go to alvor to walk the beach sea cliffs. It's a great day out. Go at low tide

Lagos was nice and perraguda felt really Portuguese.

We had a lovely time there, friendly helpful people and were sad to leave :thumb::thumb:

Nice site in Fundao just over border in Portugal. Lovely town, excellent restaurant on site.BUSBY

we are in Albufeira at the moment it is an ex football field but don't let that put you of 7 euro a night electric water over the road a bus station buses to take you anywhere 20 mins to old town and beach that's walking you can get a bus Lidls and Aldi 15 mins away web site www.parquedapalmeira.com
