Having been to the Tower of London last year to the the amazing poppy display it was a great surprise when this year we where travelling through Northumberland and stopped at the Woodhorn Colliery only to discover they had one if the annual travelling displays, brought back some lovely memories of London, we have one of the art poppies on our wall at home, I believe the other display for this year was in Liverpool Docks but missed that on the way up. The weather was overcast on the day but here is one of my pictures.

Visited the pit museum not long after it opened while walking around recognised my Uncles Bill and Kens pictures they were both brass band members. Then later in the pit baths reconstruction part the statue with a towel wrapped around him was my Step Father Frank.
