We are in a lovely campsite in Rennes which has free wifi. It is a very poor signal though, and I don't have booster, which I expect is exactly what I need. Here is a tip for you though:
I found sitting with my laptop on my knee I was getting "No networks Available".
I turned the laptop 90 degrees and tried again. I am still only etting 1 or 2 bars of signal, but I have relatively fast and reliable internet access.
This is repeatable - every time I align my laptop this way it works well. Every time I align it the other way I get "No Networks Available".
Also - turn off all blue tooth devices in a poor signal area, as it can interfere.
