Having read about all the fuss, we land in Plymouth today with a full tank. The first two service stations we saw in town had signs to say Sorry No Diesel, but thereafter every station we passed on the A30 and M5 had plenty of fuel and no queues. Is this the same everywhere?

Hi Jim,

Last couple of days most of the garages we've passed around here have had packed forecourts - Saron, Llandysul, Carmarthen ... although I haven't seen any with 'no fuel' signs. I came back over the Preselis this morning and topped up at the garage by the T-junction with the Haverfordwest road, empty forecourt. I said to the cashier 'no panic-buying today then?' and she replied 'None at all, country folk round here have more sense than the townies' :)Eek!:). ... The excitement seems to have died down today in the vast metropolis (Landysul) ...

The problems were Wednesday and Thursday. Today, garages are empty of queues, but have lots of petrol and diesel.

Funny though it seems to cost 2p per litre more than earlier in the week.

Anywhere less that 149 per litre is a bargin.

Cheers

Peter

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
Well seeing as though my petrol gage was showing me to be a 1/4 full i thought i better fill up .
Having never filled up my car before:Blush: Usually only putting £20 or £30 in it i got a shock.
£70 :Eeek:
AND the garage had put the diesel up to £1.48p its usually £1.44:Angry:
I didnt want to buy into the panic buying , but the garages are selling out left right and centre in our area.
Im glad Ralph sees to the motorhome and pick up.

I have quarter of a tank and have about 200 miles to do.

I set off this morning just before 11 and drove past the two petrol stations in Louth. The first one was closed/empty. The second one had just had a delivery and a queue was starting to form. Jumped in quickly and got £95 of diesel in the tank. I then went over to Grimsby 2 petrol stations out of stock and closed. Back to Coningsby main petrol station closed/empty. Tiny garage near laundrette open but is on attendant service with I presume a limit per person. They haven't put their price up and appear to be trying to look after the locals so they can get shopping etc... So 6 petrol stations passed. 4 empty. 1 just got refill and 1 on rations....
