First moho 11/2013, second 11/2014 current from 09/2019.
The key now just turns and turns and turns (both ways) without locking or unlocking.

It a Hymer moho.

Below is a photo of the door.

Thanks Martin

No xray eye fix for this im afraid lock removal will almost certainly reveal what has broken or fallen off inside

At least with motorhomes we usually have one or two other doors to use
Unlike tuggers

Now might be the time to read that WARNING message, telling you not to use the key in this lock

Sorry cant help, but we do have the same internal handle and lock, can you at least lock it from the inside?

We have remote locking on ours so never use the key

Note of caution, that cream plastic cover is not very strong, broke ours shutting (well maybe slamming) the door shut one cold night, never did get a price, had a Terry fix instead, but looks expensive o_O

More than likely the little tags at the end of the lock barrel have broken off. Should be easy to fix, once you get to the back of the barrel, there are generally (in most cases!) a little horseshoe circlip keeping the barrel in place remove that and the old barrel drops out.

To anyone who knows me this will come as a great shock - I've fixed it!

Took off the cover on the inside of the door (four screws).

Worked out that the thingy connecting the lock barrel to the door mechanism has come off (held in place by one screw).

Fitted it back together and to my surprise it is fixed!

@DavidG58 praise be.

Nice one Martin (y)(y)

I am also impressed that you had all the right tools, or at least found them when wanted

Your next problem will be the one I face routinely, Dawn is going to say why didn't you clean the door or at least get me to before you photographed it :LOL:

You will be please to know I cleaned the door without any prompting from Dawn. a guess it was a school boy error using a 'stock' photo from before I started rather than using taking a final one after I had finished.
As always I was being thrifty is not wasting more virtual 35mm film.

well done, but did you use thread lock on the cam screw and lubricate all the pivots before reassembling?

Another mod you need to do is drill a couple of holes in the big round plastic cover and fit a couple of self tappers, it is a standard Hymer mod. Stops the cover coming off, if that happens you can't open the door from the outside.

Is this an early April 1st joke because I remember Dawn announcing her Grandad telling her when you first met, "he hasn't got a tool to his name ya-know," and another of her sayings which I believe came form Grandad, "give him one job he makes five more,".

So as I know you wouldn't Bull us all Martin............
