Since I posted my query re: generator security another thought has occurred. Please be patient.
Is it necessary to "weatherproof" an generator? If so is there a danger of blocking any ventilation holes?

Okay, end of dumb questions.....'til next time.:winky:

probably worth it if its going to rain....

i use a length of old kitchen window roller blind pulled over side to side and pegged at the sides and open ends for ventilation and exhaust.
its stiff enough to form an 'overhang' at both ends and while not 100% waterproof it does keep the rain off.

you can buy proper genny 'bags' that you place the genny in and leave the ends open but they aint cheap.

there's very little heat in the body so even a plastic sheet will do.

Many thanks. Sounds like a pair of the wife's drawers will do the job.
Oops! Did I really say that?

Now that is a surprise!!!

Of all the blokes on this site, I would have thought PJ would have been the very last to advocate onanism.... his seed should surely not be allowed to fall on the ground, especially as a result of his own handiwork!
