Done some repairs on bits of the plastic skirt round the bottom of the van, but having a hell of a time finding matching paint to finish it off

the skirt colour (and parts) are very common on a lot of low line euro vans chausson(in fact most things trigano group) lunar, benimar and is a silver grey

Ive tried a few different ones from halfords but none match up

anyone had to do this that knows a good colour match?

You need to ask for the special Rainbow paint mate.

All the motorfactors shop know about it.

Its often placed next to the tartan paint. :thumb:

Plastic skirts are coloured by the gelcoat, and getting a match is neigh on impossible.

There is a trick though......use a colour that is slightly darker in shade to the rest of the van. If you do this, and whip over the bottom skirts it will not look out of place.

If it is too white, you will have a brilliant white band around the bottom, looking awful, top heavy and repaired.

Can't remember ;)
Go to a car paint suppliers -they will mix a colour match and also advise on a plastic paint primer :thumb:WITHOUT IT your paint will not stay on :Eeek:::bigsmile:
ASKat any car repair shop who they buy paint off :thumb:Go see them and they will advise on what you need :thumb:
It's a long time since I had done any painting (celulose days) and when I asked for our van I ended up with a Primer for the untreated plastic bits another for the bare ali and then one for all the van :Eeek::Eeek:::bigsmile: plus top colour

May need to get one of those....have a bigger repair to do on the rear one that I had forgotten about...mainly due to aforementioned gafa tape blending in so well:Blush:q
