Phrasebook for Camping (1 Viewer)

Has anyone found a foreign language phrasebook that is suitable for camping and campsites?

I have always kept a multi language phrasebook on my travels and has been useful on many occasions when my schoolboy language skills are insufficient. :Blush:

However it does not contain anything relevant to camping.

Any suggestions ??

If you remember i used to give french lessons on this forum so search for "french language lessons" thread and you'll find a few phrases at page 12 starting from the 5th post on that very page.

Hope it will give you a little help!

Don't forget that being able to ask is good BUT you'll have to get the answers too ..... not always easy

how true, I have fallen foul of this many times.. :Blush:

however, the French appreciate it when you try out your French rather than shouting in English

Yes I followed your lessons last year. They were very good.
I have travelled regularly through France over the years and usually managed languagewise with hotels & chambres d'hotes. They are probably used to Brits with their schoolboy French!! However I have never been on campsites before so need to brush up on camping vocabulary. Particulary as will be also going to Spain & Germany

I always try but I agree that the difficult bit is answering an unexpected question :Blush:

Heard on the radio recently........Expat shopping near Alicante overheard the following said to shop assistant

" It's no good speaking Spanish at me my dear, I'm English" oh:oh:


The days of the Empire are alive and living in Alicante province
