Just put a few pictures of the Olive Museum in Imperia on my albums.

Well worth a visit. :thumb: Next to the train station in Imperia. Reduction for over 65's.

Use the audio guides as all the explanations are in Italian

Olives are odd things. Completely inedible when picked green they have to be soaked for 3 weeks or so in water. Some would say they are then still inedible!

Apparently the green ones are more expensive because they have to be picked by hand. The black ones are just ripe olives and they either fall off the tree or will fall down easily if the tree is shaken or bashed and it is thus easier to harvest the black ones.

Personally, I don't think you can beat a good olive, black or green, to eat with a drink or two. Unfortunately, you don't always get good olives.
