I have ordered one of thesehttp://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=201134997147&alt=web it charges at 5v, 3amps. I have various devices that charge at anything from 1 to 2 amps, anyone know if the devices say 1amp will charge on this without frying the electronics ? My thinking was it may charge faster, but now having doubts . as you may have guessed I am not electrically savy.

I think you might find that max 3amp output is shared between the 4 ports, I bought a twin wall socket with two USB outputs from Aldi a couple of weeks ago, the packaging showed 2.1 amp output, but again that was shared, ie one device connected 2.1, two devices plugged in 1 amp each

Ah, so the output for each socket could be less that 1amp, bugger(n)

Only if you had four devices plugged in at the same time, you should be able to charge two phones or a phone and a tablet comfortably
