Where do Pheasants sleep at night...

Our visitor has spent the last few days in and around our garden...

Here first thing in the morning............ But where does he/She go/live at night... ?

We have a few foxes around, so I`m assuming they get off the ground...

Generally up a tree, but I have seen them roosting on top of barns. The stupidest bird in the world.

No, that accolade has to go to seagulls.

Hundreds of them used to roost on top of a very large storage building in the former Wilton ICI.
One night it burnt down and the site was cleared, leaving only the concrete pad that was the floor of the store.
The seagulls used to still land there and roost, even though the building and the heat it generated had long gone.
They only stopped when the area was used to pile logs and wood pulp for the Wilton power station.

I agree with Dave :thumb: we used to go out late at night with airgun and you could see them about 30ft up the bare trees in winter

They had to be bred stupid and hardly able to fly just so the posh knobs could hit something with their side by side 12 bores.

I was always surprised by the fact that I could drive up to a pheasant and get within feet of it without any issues. Yet when I was walking they wouldn't let me get within 20 meters....

I asked Stew (Artona) why they did this. His response "Motorhomes never carry shotguns" :Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:
