Under normal driving conditions the cooling water temperature on my 2011 Peugeot Boxer based motorhome is at the normal temp.
On a return trip a couple of weeks ago due to congestion on the M62 we came to a halt for 10 to 15 mins. The outside temp was about 2 deg c and with the engine ticking over the water temp started to cool off to about half way between normal and cold. When we got moving again it quickly got back to normal again. Is it normal for the engine temp to cool in these conditions. From cold it attains normal temp in about 2 miles so it appears the therostat is ok. Any advice would be appreciated.::bigsmile:

I would expect a slight drop if the outside temp was that low due to the engine doing no work, but not that much.

check the electric cooling fan isnt running all the time...could be a faulty fan switch.
