I just thought some of you travelers with pets to Europe might be interested in this bit of info ( I know I am)..in my French / English Paper, Connection
It says this will come into force at the end of this year ...European Union rules
They are thinking of scrapping the rabies test, so pet will no longer to have a Rabies blood test or have to wait the 6 months before they can travel to the uk for pets traveling from Europe
Pets will also no longer need the tick and tapeworm treatment before travelling to the uk...(They are thinking of scrapping the the tick and wormer for pets traveling from Europe) ...as long as you are up to date with your rabies, chipped, to the uk by the end of this year !!!!!! we will wait and see ????:thumb::thumb::thumb:
We vaccinate every year over her in France for Rabies ....... I think in the UK it is every 3 years

2 years,I'm not sure if there is a longer one.

Our Cairn Charlie had a 3 year Rabies Jab in December 2010

Just one word of warning our VET says we must NOT! go over the date of the Rabies injection, if we did by even one day it all becomes invalid....and we will have to start again.....so becarefull....:thumb:
What I am trying to say Mark.... IF.... it did NOT come into force and you have not renewed your rabies jab !!!???**** you would have to start again..£££££££££....6 Months........

Yes susie was done for 3 years have checked with 2 vets now and the 3yearly one is valid. So Susie is ok until January 2012

if i remember correctly it will tell you in your pet passport when the next one is due , chatters is every three years
