Reference the above, I could look in the books, but was hoping for a funster recommendation and particularly, an Aire that's not rammed or too busy (July time).

Yep. There is a newish Aire on the riverside. When we stayed it was free but facilities were still being installed so may be a price now.
Lovely walk into town along riverside into town about 20 minutes stroll.

We stopped at the above-mentioned riverside aire (45.187685, 0.730897) last year with a view to visiting the town and stopping overnight. Entry was through an automated barrier. However, once we'd been in the cathedral (one of the dullest I've seen) and the Museum (very old-fashioned) we couldn't find anything else to do and cleared off to the coast earlier than planned. The aire looked OK but the town didn't hold our attention long enough to want to stay more than a couple of hours. About 40 minutes drive to the south is Le Bugue which is far more interesting and has a lovely grassy aire in a riverside park among trees. Likewise nearby Les Eyzies de Tayac Sirieul is a lovely spot and the aire is one of our favourites.
