Hi has anyone done this before from kit.

I mixed all bits together as required and it asked me to shake up to mix sugar. Then put airlock on.

I've just gone past 2hrs later and although it's bubbling it seems sugar is on the bottom again, do I shake demijohn again or just leave it now.

    Any advice appreciated

Sugar is normally added to warm water in brewing to dissolve it but just keep it warm and give it a shake and it will dissolve, but in about 12 hours or so once the yeast gets going it it may froth over if shaken.

You could then try a sterilised metal skewer to give it a stir, it may take a day or so but the sugar does need to dissolve.

actually the sugar does NOT need to dissolve it will naturally disappear as it is turned into alcohol. Not worth shaking the bottle I have been adding sugar to cold fruit and yeast mix for years and it always ferments.

I once done one of those high alcohol peach shnapps kits & it was a disaster.
Never did figure out what went wrong..
