Off to France in late July and using euro tunnel.

Is there any where to overnight late Sunday (11pm+)

Return trip back to tunnel from our site near Roscoff.

Wanting an aire or cheap but good site an hour or so away from the tunnel to overnight.

Any recommendations?

Thank you.

You can park in Tesco car park at Cheriton just off junction 12 on M20 then 5 minutes back to the tunnel via A20 Ashford Road.

On return journey there is an Aire at Wissant which is about 20 mins from tunnel or Boulogne overlooking the harbour, about 40 mins away.

Excellent free stop at the service area Baie de la Somme, dedicated motorhome parking well signposted.

Cite Europe at Coquelles near Calais would be my first choice - right next to Eurotunnel! :thumb:

Etiquette re aires etc.

We would be getting a train sometime around midnight, arriving at site say 1am. Is it frowned upon to arrive on an aire/motorhome parking spot at that time. We would of course keep noise to a minimum and try and park away from the others so as to reduce disturbance.

In our experience MHs have turned up at all times of the day & night at some aires we've stayed at. The only chance you take is there being room for you.

We always use cite de Europe in Calais, 5 mins from tunnel and campers arriving and leaving at all times of the night, near shopping centre & police station.

Yes, no problem turning up at Cite Europe 24/7. Traffic coming and going through the night - but surprisingly little disturbance to a good night's sleep. I think most motorhomers are considerate in that respect. Plenty of space there also.
