for a half decent paint job, 2 grand is about normal,

you could pay a backstreat garage to do a quick flashover, but you'll have no comeback when it orange peels and starts flaking in a years time, where as the 2 grand paint job should be a full rub down, spray in 2 pak and oven baked,

i've seen loads of brush and roller painted vans when i was in a self build club, from a distance they look great, but get too close and they look awfull, on a vehicle that is not worth much to start with and you never intend to sell it, then it's ok,

but as geo says, brush or roller painting will put any potential purchaser off, i know if it were me, i'd want the price of a proper spray job knocked off the asking price,

Hiya Dave.

I'm very interested in doing exactly the same when I have the bodywork done.

Will 2 pack go on top of the original?

I've always gone on the basis of stripping right back to bare metal.Sorting out any defects in the bodywork.Flatting and priming and painting from there.

Is that what they've quoted you for?Seems rather cheap if so.

Otherwise you could get reaction between dissimilar type paints.

I'm very interested in obtaining original profile ally sheet too.Trouble is it is the profile that is the problem getting a match.....
