Hi
Anyone out there an expert on the Oyster Vision 11

There was one installed on our van when we bought it but unfortunately no instructions. We have used it for several months but I am sure it isn't just right.
If the van has not been moved it goes directly to Astra 2 no problem.

If the van has been moved it goes around a couple of times stops in the general direction of Astra2 and does some fine adjustments but does not lock on. It then sets off and does about ten or more laps of the van roof often leaning way back from the vertical position. It usually does eventually find Astra2.

My question is:- Is this normal

Thanks Alan

Hi Alan.
Well mine occasionally goes off on a little dance of its own.
My favorite location has a hill, right where Astra 2 is located and she has trouble locking on to it. Astra is pretty low down on the horizon in some terrain and I wonder if mist, trees, heat haze etc affect it.
Always finds the blighter in the end.
Good luck.

To sort your problem out I suggest you contact Robert Jackson, the Oyster Specialist who lives in the Wakefield area. See his website:

He installed my oyster dish and was fantastic.

Alan

I have it regular and there seems to be no reason for it most of the time

I find it easier (sometimes not all) to get it to tune into Astra 1 and once locked on I then move it to Astra 2.

It drives me around the bend......................just been to France and had a 60% success rate even going straight to A2

Hope you sort it, let us know if you do

You think you have problems...:ROFLMAO:
Mine is an early Oyster and goes to Astra 1...I then have to manualy tune it to Astra 2...I also have to have a second reciever in line to get digital Astra...Oh for the simlicity of a manual dish.
Asked Oyster if it could be updated...was told to throw it away and buy a new one:Eeek:
