Hi Al, was talking to your neighbour this morning with the MAN. He was up at Iminiki doing his dobying yesterday. The track is not finished yet but the beach carpark is opened up again. No problems down here now. A few are up in Paradise Valley but we will be staying put for a couple of weeks now before heading up to Marakech.

Would this be a good place to get a new cambelt fitted?

Cambelt fitted........You can get an engine rebuild there. RR had a Alco rear axle removed and rebuilt. They have the skills long forgotten in the UK. We in the UK are in a throw away society, they are still in the repair and rebuild.

We have now moved up onto the plateau away from the beach. About a dozen of us up here and its so quite after listening to the ocean. There are Bedouin nomads camped in the bushes tending there camels and its certainly different from the coast. We are still in sight of the sea but inland maybe 3 kms. there are some real overland campers up here and after the road up I know why. By the way one English guy has Sky TV on a 1.3 metre dish....I didnt bother asking him WHY :ROFLMAO:

Oh he has been introduced to the real Morocco Jim, and has survived exceedingly well up to now. We have not used any motorways as yet here so that was a shock in its self. He has already had Moroccan tummy so should be immune to just about everything now. I think the biggest shock came when they dismantled his camper in the back streets of Agadir leaving him with no rear axle overnight. Am sure he thought he would be there forever. RR is coping very well indeed and should return to the UK a changed man....also much slimmer:ROFLMAO:

Hey you're in Morocco, no waiting days for the odd toe off there, every other shop on the high street will sort it.

But beware the language barrier because if you get it wrong you might not have a leg to stand on.

Hi Roger, We are still working on that project, well at least my mate is whilst am away. I knew I wouldn't need it out here as the 150 watts that I have keep the batteries up with no problems. They are full by 10 am and have only used the wind charger to see if it worked, not in anger. We have had no hookups since leaving home on 27 Dec and have had no battery issues whatsoever. The tracker is not for use out here but more-so for use in the UK in winter.....That's if am ever going to be there in winter again.::bigsmile:::bigsmile:

We left Agadir on Saturday and having hooked up with 2 more intrepid travelers of which VW Alan will know as Colin and Irish John traveled along the coast Rd to Sidi Ifni. This Rd is one of the most scenic roads I have ever driven in a lifetime of driving across several continents. We stopped off in beautiful bays and then travelled inland to Guelmim were we are now camped for the first time since leaving home on a pay campsite. Having said that it is £3-82p per night. The reason for this is that the campsite is actually a hotel with its own hot spring baths and swimming pool,of which we have full use. We are catching up on the laundry whilst her also. Am attaching a few recent photos of the beaches we visited on route down from Agadir and also some good wilding spots...not on industrial estates or supermarket car parks I may add.

Hi Al, Tafraoute next, then up the old road via Ait-Baha back to Agadir, then up Paradise Valley to pick up the Markkech Rd for a few days up there before back down into the desert.
John and Nadia are no more and he has sold his house here.

hi dave and john . if you get chance and go south call in to tarfaya there is a museum about the french air mail . and the bloke on franki.s signature is the man. its very interesting .its the last stop before he flew planes across to america. well worth a visit . if its closed ask around they opened it for us .
hopefully i have atached pics of the doorway and the monument to him. there is also an island just off shore it was a british off shore trading post. worth the visit.

I ticked the "like" button cos when I saw the thumbnail of the new addition to the vehicle..ie a plane on the roof rack... i thought..wow here we all are worrying about toad vehicles and now we have to compete with one upmanship and have to have a plane on our roof rack.
Imagine my disappointment when I enlarged the thumbnail.

However it did get me to thinking that if we all put planes on our roof racks and said to the spanish government...we have no choice but to have planes as there is no law against it...all we wanted to do is drag a toad behind us....they may relent and say..."as long as you stop wid da plane thing ya can have ya blummin toads...."

Just a thought...(obviously put a spanish dialect to the end paragraph, which I cant cos I was raised in yorkshire)

Well having now spent 3 days in Tafraoute I can say its one of the most interesting and beautiful places I have ever visited. Its the first time I have been here and it certainly wont be the last "Enshalah". The town is surrounded by mountains so no wind. The place is nothing like the rest of Morocco, its obviously very wealthy. The road down here over the mountains was a little hairy to say the least, but all the almond trees were in blossom so it was an amazing sight as we crossed the mountains. Its been30 in the shade today so more than enough but we are now acclimatized nicely. Once it drops below 22 we have started to put coats on. We are parked up 2 mins from the centre of town at a cost of 76p per night no electric but hole in the ground for emptying cassettes and rubbish. Solar panels charging batteries fully by 10-30 am. Just going to take a shower and off out for a meal, nice restaurant, bit pricey at £11-45 for 3 courses for 2 people but still what the hell.
