Due to sail on the Santandar to Plymouth Ferry, Thursday afternoon..

Any body know of an over night stop just outside Santandar???

Not allowed on the Ferry car park till 09-30..

So want to park outside Santandar so we can get to the ferry car park for 9-30am,,, that gives us a good few hours to have a meal and a nose round the town before we sail.. :thumb:

Just Googled and there is a big services about 12 mile from the port.. any others ?

hi mo .you need to be in torrelavaga by the aldi ,carrefour dias ,lidl.. loads parking . or up by the railway station sierra pando. you have to find lidl then up to a garage turn left for polanco.
but all the super markets are together . and a big daf garage down the road from them as a guide. we park around there always good for last minute beer etc . plus the boys fancy the girl in the chinese shop there as well. i had good wifi there as well. good big parking behind aldi.
if you have autoroute on your lappy look for the railway line .we also park in the railway station carpark .
mind i also stay by the farm opening by the garage been doing it for twenty years .

Having been warned off Santander by vwalan a few weeks ago we stayed at LIERGANES. Excellent little town with an official aire. (It is number 1 in the Spanish section of 'ALL THE AIRES'.) It is 15 miles from the dock. Has water and grey and black waste point. Big enough for all size units - some lorry bays. Very underused when we stayed 9/3/12. Next to rail station but it is very quiet as no trains overnight and they are electric anyway. Excellent menu del dia in Cantabrico just across the bridge. Hope you have a good crossing - ours was like a millpond.
