We have recently purchase a new van with a Outsmart the thief alarm / tracker, the alarm seems to work fine, the cab door contacts set of the alarm as they should but neither of the PIR's in the rear work.

I have spoken to Outsmart the thief and reprogrammed the PIR to the alarm, but within a day They seem to have stopped working they have new Duracell batteries, I will call them again tomorrow (4th or 5th call to a chargeable line) but before I do Thought I'd ask if anyone else has had issues with their PIR's, I accept that maybe one of them might be faulty but surely not two hence the question.

Duracell batteries powering parts of an alarm system?

Doesn't sound very durable to me!

We've had them in a previous motorhome ... it was either use battery powered ones or have to run cables ... the batteries last a long time.

Well still having issues, alarm is very erratic, Spoke to Carl several time and it just the PIR's playing up.

First of all I want to say how refreshing it is that a company goes the extra mile for the customer, so 10/10 for Outsmart the thief, Going to try some new PIR's failing that the system will have to be replaced

Watch this space I guess.

Unless I'm mistaken aren't all vehicle alarms battery operated, the PIR are wireless
Do cars alarms use PIRs? Surely they should be using wired in ultrasonic sensors, as all of my car alarms have? PIRs would be subject to false alarms from movement outside the car wouldn't they?

But PIRs or ultrasonic sensors are not really suitable for motorhomes. We have Link Removedand it uses a radio wave based system that covers the whole motorhome.
