We have been settled in Apps Court Farm for the last couple of days, been cloudy but thankfully no rain we are literally yards from the Thames Path, at Sudbury Lock and have to say very impressed how well used the path is with walkers cyclists and the river busy with boats of all descriptions . Yesterday we had a walk along the path looking at all the beautiful river side houses of all shapes and sizes from small wooden Chalets to grand houses lavished with every thing you can think of.

Two things struck me firstly on the whole stretch between Sudbury Lock and Kingston-on-Thames we hardly seen one piece of litter and secondly the smiles and nods we got from people as we were walking along.
Today we cycled about 7 miles into Kingston-on-Thames it was a pleasure to be there the place was alive the Market Square with it's Street Food all doing brisk business, the Bike Doctor on the side of the street repairing cycles, the shops were just alive, yet two minutes away and you were on the Thames with it's house Boats, teams of Canoe's training too the sound of loud hailers, sailing boats bobbing along.

We have been on the road now nearly three weeks and only stayed in one afternoon because of rain, up to now we really can not complain about our UK tour.

Proves two things - a) provide the facilities people want & they'll use them and b) most people, especially when not under stress, are happily sociable.

Keep on keeping up with the updates...

Update on Sunday we had a morning at the huge CarnBoot Sale at Apps Court Farm, I do love people watching, got myself a really good pot Tagine for £6 as I don't like using my Aliminum one two regularly, stayed there the rest of Sunday then made our way to the New Forest, our first few nights have been spent at Lytton Lawn at Milford-on-sea, really pleasant site with excellent heated shower block.
We had a walk to the Beach yesterday about 2 mile looking over to the Isle of Whight to say the waves were Angery would be a understatement there was Foam filling the air all over the front .

The main reason for our first stop at Milford was it's proximity to Sammy Millers Motor Museum, Eddie has to have his fix.

A couple of the more unusual things loved the leather bike stand (I know I am strange). The Singer Sewing machines for @ScotJimland and thought the detail in the hand made wooden bike was amazing.
Tomorrow we move on to Burley and get more into the heart of the forest.

Hi Debs no we are on a Rally with MCC but it was £27 for two nights where as the Brit Stop which we just happened to find is £2 a night with electric a short walk from the village, though I think they only take two vans so best to book, a couple of photos of it, definitely made us think it could be worth joining Brit Stops . Nice little Cider Shop and Café as well.

Thanks Carol, we've joined britstops but haven't tried one yet but liked the sound of that one. Les is going down for the autojumble and I'm driving the van down to him:clap2: first time I'll have taken her anywhere on my own!

Love the photos and updates:) cheers

That's what we are here foe the Auto Jumble, staying at Hollands Wood now it's really nice. Not a awful lot to do at Burley but nice for a week end.

We've never stayed on Hollands Wood but have walked through it quite a few times, when I come down in Monday we'll be on Longmeadow for a night, just opposite where you are.

Think we are finally getting our head round not being in a caravan and just deciding day by day what we want to do - it's only taken 7 months:D

Settled into Hollands Wood for a few days today had a ride through the Forest somehow e managed to get lost for a hour the arrows didn't go were we thought they did (and we had bought a new map) eventually after what should have been a 4 mile ride became. 8 mile ride into Lyndhurst but the sun was shining and we enjoyed a ramble around the Town did a bit of window shopping for a new car but could not make my mind up on the colour.
When we got back got the good old tagine out and enjoyed sun. Today all the pony's seem to have disappeared strange they sometimes they are everywhere then they just disapear

Our last night in the New Forest before moving on to Beaulieu for the Auto Jumble and Land Rover Week End, yesterday spent chilling as the rain finally caught up with us, but today has been pleasant,it's been really quiet here all week with the odd tent and van scattered around but this afternoon (Friday) it's changed from a Forest to a camp site with all the tents going up all around ready for the week end. A few photos from my wonder around today .

Well that's it left Beauli at 7.30am this morning for our run home home to North Wales, for the first hour we were in solid traffic and 4 lane's standing still at Southampton, think we live a sheltered life traffic that early was a shock to the system:Eeek: and we have torrential rain, think we picked the right time to go home, we have had a great time revisiting some of our favourite places and finding some new ones, a few pictures from the last few days.
