Firstly I'd get a multimeter across the bulb/led holder terminals & determine whether there's power there or not.

Are bulbs or L.E.D.'s fitted in the marker lights ?

I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the marker lights are powered from the rear lamp cluster.

Are all the marker lights affected or just the odd one?

Before panicking I would check if they are indeed covered in the test.
They are not covered in an mot in the uk ( much to my surprise )
In the uk you can get access to all the mot requirements on line and check what is and is not covered.
Perhaps something similar can be found for the Spanish test ?

our Mercedes Hymer was in for pre MOT service and MOT through them but not on their site, they notified me that three out of six had failed and wanted to replace them, not a Merc part of course, but loads on ebay etc about £15 each if they were like mine . They were unsure on the MOT failure bit, but I wanted them sorting anyway (y)

LED's slightly different design to mine but same shape / fixing centres

typical, looking for same as I bought I have now found identical to those fitted on mine with the grey surround, the ones I bought didnt have them o_O

Might just be the bulbs have gone or the contacts have corroded. I had to rebulb a couple of mine recently, they do pick up a lot of spray where they're fitted.

Below 3500kg, they are just reflectors above that figure they must be amber lights and if fitted must work.
So they do come into the MOT

Had a problem with ours a few years ago and it was corrosion in the rear number plate light unit knocking the fuse out, fuse was in the main vehicle box under the dash but we are IVECO base chassis.

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
Mine are powered from the rear cluster each side. It seems that all lights must work if fitted???

Do not wish to be a pain but ours is well over 3.5 t and has been to a VOSA main test centre..
Side markers are not in the mot as the vehicle is still a class four..

I thought it depended on the length of the vehicle? But not needed for class IV anyway ?

I know our last van (5.99m) had an advisory that they weren't working and I pointed out they were reflectors and not lights and lights were not required. The test station couldn't take the advisory off the MOT though (or said they couldn't).

Was the issue reported to VOSA ?
It should be as the MOT station would then be officially advised, the advisory expunged from the vehicle record ( and a black mark agin the mot inspector who did the test )

Yes, but we traded in the van shortly afterwards. They did write on the paper certificate that they were reflectors and not lights after I pointed out the error. I got the feeling that they don't like women who know about these things ...... take it as an affront to their masculinity which is silly as there are women testers, mechanics, fitters, truck drivers these days.

Mine are powered from the left rear cluster. Mine failed and turned out that the live feed had snapped.

The wires were in a terrible state, very poor build quality, rounded srew heads, poor connections and sloppy craftsmanship, which led to the failure.

Took me a while to locate it, but ended up having to replace the wires and add a protective sleeve to prevent future failures:)

Good luck and keep us posted:)

Hooray Thanks to all for your comments, the problem has now been solved, underneath the floor panel on the passenger side was a 5amp fuse. What a crazy place to put it but that's motorhome manufacturers for you. Will now be able to get ITV (MOT) Thanks again to you alll

We had a New Pilote 716 and the marker lights refused to go out when you turned the ignition key off. They changed the Schaudt Elektroblock to fix it. The marker lights were controlled by a relay of some description inside the box.

Why do you need to ITV a 2015 MH not due till 2019?
