Is it busy?
Itlay is meant to be manic in Summer

Peschiera del Garda was very busy and there were quite a few people around Iseo yesterday but today it's really quiet around the town.

The site we're on is full but it's small so that's not really saying much.

Lunchtime in Iseo.

Forgot to take pictures of my Bruschette or her toastie thing  so here's the view from where we're sat instead.

I'm sure there is a rule about posting photos like that when some of us are sat at our desks :(

Desk? Who needs a desk?

I've even done some work since we've been away.

Not very much admittedly but I have done some (y):D

I hope they are not big on cocktail type drinks in Italy.

Isabel loves them and puts away quite a few.

They are invariably the most expensive drink on the menu:(

Why cant women just stick with a beer?

They are quite big on them, everywhere we've been there have been loads. Funnily enough they aren't the most expensive drinks on the menu though, quite the opposite. The most expensive ones are usually beers

Cheapest usually is the local wine sold by the jug :D

I had a glass of wine last week in a pub £9 and not even a large glass. I usually buy a bottle for that price.

When I walked into the bar, Mike handed me my glass of wine and said "don't gulp it down, make it last!"

Today mostly consisted of lounging around the van and swimming in the lake with the dogs. As we're pitched about 25 yards from the water this didn't prove very strenuous so we decided to go out for dinner.

Trip Advisor sent us down a little alleyway to a tiny place that all the locals apparently go to. I can see why.

It really is little, only about 10 tables, and the owner is really enthusiastic and happy to talk you through the menu and the wine list in English.

I started with trout tartare with grains, chickpeas and flat bread while Madame had a selection of pork and horse hams and sausage.

Mains were a horse T-bone for me and trout with cheese and bacon for her. Both accompanied by polenta and salad.

The owner recommended a bottle of a rather nice local wine to go with the food and we had a bottle of water as well

Deserts were a bit of a mystery but turned out to be a cake that looked like Biscotti but wasn't and cage with a shot of a very sweet desert wine and some ice cream cake things. I forgot to take pictures of these until half way through.

I finished off with a glass of Grappa that turned out to be on the house (y):D

We then retired back to the MH for coffee.

It all sounds lovely Nick apart from that Grappa, why on earth would you spoil all of that with the taste of Grappa.

Still, one mans Fish is another mans Poisson...... Griff
