How many motorhomers get on site with no hard standings and drive forward on to a wet grass pitch, then realise they need a tow off the pitch. But one big problem, no tow bar or towing eye. Some motorhomes have skirts along the back of them making it very awkward to tow off without causing damage to vehicle some owners need to think about this before driving on to the pitch. Happy Days.

But I guess it's easy to say after the event or did it occur to you naturally??

You may well laugh !
I actually managed it in my garden

Parked up on lovely hard grass to do a couple of jobs, and then it rained....and rained.....and rained.

Luckily I have a Land Rover and a very amused brother-in -law.
I also now have an extended concrete drive, at great expense.

I didn't spin the wheels, oh no, no need.
The b***dy thing just sank.

Fortunately in our seven years here we've not yet had a problem. Most of our pitches are now hardstandings, but we have some lovely grass pitches, most of these being on a slight slope, so no difficulty in pulling away. The subsoil is rocky, so drainage is excellent, thank goodness. Mind you, after we had some snow in the winter before last we changed our car and bought a 4x4 so that we could tow guests off if needed, but we have not had to do so yet. Wasted money? Could be, but Murphy's Law says that had we not done so there would have been people getting stuck all over!!!:winky::winky:
