Once you have fnished it you will have such a good time in it knowing how well you have restored it, and it really will be your pride and joy.

You didn't say what distance it has covered. Our Merc camper in NZ has covered 197000 k's and still goes like a dream. (It was an ex rental and tatty - we love it)

Hi
I have owned one of these for the last 6 years love it :thumb:
not fast but gets you there

Last big trip took her down to Switzerland apart from silencer falling off :Eeek: no problems

We get about 25 mpg touring down to 23 if pushing it

Mine has done about 98000 miles always starts on first turn of key

I have fitted cruse control , a vacuum unit made by Zemco in 1977
also converted to run on veggy oil

Parts replaced over 6 years

new front disks
new headlamps
new rear brake cables
new rear brake cylinders
replaced brake pipes
replaced radiator
replaced exhaust
1 set of tyres

and normal oil/filter changes

total costs about £800 or £133 per year :thumb:

Most parts are on Ebay or Ebay.de (German)

Been refurbishing the interior with van lining carpet looking good

Buy yourself a grease gun to keep the kingpins well greased to help with the heavy steering

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have

Yes we still have the paloma water heater it works great provides plenty of hot water for the shower.

Make sure that you drain it down during frosty weather as they are very prone to splitting the heating matrix if frozen :Eeek:

Never have treated the woodwork underside it still feels sound perhaps treated wood was used

Hope you get as much pleasure from yours as I do mine :thumb:

Have you tried Charles and Sons in Poole? They stock all sorts of parts for older vans.
