Pinkie, like what you have done with the interior, good luck with £1000, let us know how it goes. Agree with Tonka get a different picture in some of that beautiful Scottish scenery, not a good look where it is taken at the moment.

Good to see you have it sorted.

Wow! £1,000:Eeek:

I wouldn't hire it based on those photos. They all need redoing, for crisp clear, colourful ones. The one with all the cupboards open and the van full of bags of stuff looks awful.

Seriously Pinkie, if you read this, get the photos redone, make the van look cosy and welcoming, lay the table as though for dinner, outside photos somewhere picturesque, one of the bed made up looking comfy and inviting. Maybe a photo of a table set up outside the van ready for dinner. You've got to sell the idea of being away in the van, not just the van it's self.

Her career in marketing must have ended abruptly on day 2 I reckon.

But this is Pinkie, normal rules do not apply. She'll probably have people outbidding themselves on it.

We went to T in The Park a couple of years ago and the van behind us was a brand new that 6 guys had hired, on the second day the all decided to take their chairs out on to the roof while having a drink. They stayed there for about 3 hours drinking and dancing so I would imagine the roof would be well damaged and I bet they didn't inspect the roof when returned off hire.

So a £1000 may look good but could cost you more.

Agee with all the above. :thumb:

Out of focus photos don't 'sell' it to me.

Neither do photos down a grotty side street.

And PLEASE make sure the van is clean. The paintwork may be new but the wheels are filthy. Put the number plate on rather than displaying it in the windscreen. It's the small details.

You're competing with brand new or nearly new 'vans at that price. I know you're offering free delivery, pickup and a full tank of fuel, but the photos and description are merely a door opener to an enquiry.

Seriously, the very best for your new venture. :thumb:

On those pics, I wouldn't even buy it for a grand.

Just my opinion.
Sorry, just seen it's for 3 days and have to pick it up from Dundee :roflmto:

It's April 5th not 1st :roflmto:

For £1,000, you could stay at the bleedin' Ritz :ROFLMAO:

If this thread had been started by Pinkie with a request for help and advice on ways to change her advert this would be OK

I am sure comments are offered in support, but some seem overly critical :Eeek:

No, honest and truthful. Maybe the OP got a bit carried away.

Can you find anything actually wrong with my posts? Honestly ?

many many years! since I was a kid
does that price include the five VIP access all areas tickets too??

other established companies offering luxury new vans for less money if not. if youre trying to use the usp of being a vintage classic, then it needs more luxury and certainly a better sales pitch

If any of us had spotted this on ebay and Pinkie was not a member on here, I am sure we would have said exactly the same. However, I think most of the comments have been said in a constructive way. Pinkie is well thought of on here, mad, but well thought of and I for one would not be slagging her efforts off. After all the trouble she went to to get the van I think this advert is letting her down.

Just been away for 10 mins and started thinking.

How many threads were there about campsites in Yorkshire charging £150 for 3 days stay close to the start of the Tour de France.

99% on here said it was piracy and rip off. It was like WWIII

Now we have a 'liked' member charging £1,000 for 3 days.

Whe will reality kick in ?

I cannot disagree with you about the price, but knowing Pinkie she might just get some takers.

It was Pete at Hire a Hymer I was thinking of as a comparable product / competitor when I wrote my comments.

We hired an S670 from them last year and they were gracious enough to offer advice and encouragement getting Udo imported.

They're a shining example of how to run a motorhome hire business.

I fully recall Pinkie not wanting 'naysayers' when she first floated her idea of hiring out her S550 on here. I don't think anyone in this thread has been guilty of that. It's constructive and we're all trying to help.

I missed the thread where Pinkie asked for help, that puts a different slant on this thread

Seeing tonkas link above I can see why some might be tempted to hire, when I sold my old MH the buyer was quite convinced he was going to make some decent money hiring it out

Reading comments re 'sitting on roof for hours drinking' reminds me why we don't

I meant no offence, it just did not read very well :thumb:
