Northern France to Alicante, best route? (1 Viewer)

im sure this has been asked before so apologies, but ...
Can any hardened Travellers give me the heads up on the best route please? We have driven down many times and taken different routes each time but didnt have to plan Aires stop overs or (as in the first time we went) the sat nav cocking up and sending us along the narrowest of narrow, extremely high and "don't look down!" Routes.
So, knowledge is power and all advise welcomed.
