Hi Steven
what sort of sites u looking for?
August is a busy old time to go touring. If u are a member of either of the two clubs, that would be useful to pre-book on their sites, or to use their cl/cs sites.
A lot of the cl/cs's will need prebooking in August.
Also being a member of the C&CC club allows you to use their temporary holiday sites which are useful if you don't what to pre-book. The CC has some holiday rallies, but they could be more formal events tied to particular area groups of the club.
C&CC membership gives you easier access to the Forestry Commission sites, Bedgelert is particularly good if you are into Mountains.
I can't help on wild camping, the Co-Pilot won't allow it

All the best
Howard

For the Lleyn Peninsular (Pwllheli, Cricceth area) you could try the C&CC site at Llanystumdwy (we are there at the moment) if you need full facilities but would say that don't come here unless you can book a hardstanding as all other pitches are on dreadful slopes and impossible to get level. The site staff have some huge wooden ramps (you have to leave £20 deposit per pair) to help but on some pitches even these are not enough. Site itself very pleasant with a 1.5 mile walk to Cricceth. Some road noise but you get used to it.

Hi Boybris and welcome to the fun forum. On Anglsey there are two good CCC CS at Church Bay in Anglesey a beautiful little bay with a nice beach and good swimming, from both sites it is easy to walk to the beach and also on the Costal Path and a very good little cafe plus the Lobster Pot resturant (a bit pricey one). There is also CS at Rhos Colyn which is just past Valley another part of Anglsey I would not miss. At Moelfre there is a car park in the centre and you can park overnight for £2 or there is a nice site there as well. If you want to go into Snowdonia there are some good wild camping places as can be found on Anglsey, if you drop on some good weather you will have a excellent holiday there the beaches and scenery are beautiful. CCC also have a lot of Holiday Rallys there in the summer.
Also in July/August the CCC run a very good holiday right on the sea front in Llandudno. Enjoy. ::bigsmile:

started when I was 11 with my parents-forgot to stop!been real one since 1980!
Nice site at Llanuchllyn near Bala. Just follow the signs for the lake railway, turn in by the railway and keep left. WC Showers and hook ups plenty of space. Handy for the train into Bala.
10 mins walk from site to the Eagles pub, book if you want a meal there, very popular.

Hi Boybris3,

There are a few nice wilcamping places around Anglesey, two that are used often are in Amlwch port, both with nice sea views. Rhos on Sea prom is used by several motorhomes most evenings and I've not heard of anyone getting moved on.

Regards, John
