Chausson 510 Welcome 2016
Would like to know that I am not alone in thinking the water pump is noisy. There is no doubt a solution to this, perhaps mounting the pump on rubber, but has anyone else found a solution. This cannot be just the Chausson range.

Try loosening the mounting screws so less vibration is transmitted to the wall board or whatever it's secured to.

I placed a neoprene knee support between the pump and the floor, just screwed it down through it. It worked well but my knee is noiser than ever :D

Cheers Jim. Unfortunately I have to use my knee support as a one-eyed balaclava! And it keeps me quiet as well.

Ours was the same (Autocruise Wentworth) so I bolted it down on 10mm rubber sheet. Totally sorted. (y)

May not be the pump - I found the output pipe was rubbing on a bulkhead and transmitting the pump vibration to it like a sounding board. Bit of bubble wrap cured that, although I do admit it's still not "silent".

Calling Chausson owners with a noisy water pump.
Set out to cure it with sound-deadening pads. Discovered the water pump sits under the seat and is mounted on a plate that hovers above the water tank.
Therefore easy to remove pump and attach the pads as required. This has really helped, but the noise has not been totally eliminated, which is just as well if you need to know it's operating. Next time the lid comes off, I'll be adding a bit of bubble wrap, but not yet. Pictures will explain.

I was curious what was under the double travelling seat with the boards screwed down. Now I know!
Mine is also noisy but wasn't too fussed as the water pump is not run for too long.

Positive displacement pumps will always make a noise, fact of life. Using rubber feet will help as will using sound deadening material. Vane pumps are much quieter but allow all the water to drain back into the tank so must be mounted so the are below the lowest water level in the tank or they will not prime. In some vans it may be possible to use the quieter pumps especially if you can fit a no return valve to stop drain back

I have always wanted to be able to hear the water pump, not hammering just to be aware its operating, this is a useful acoustic warning of leaks etc. so don't eliminate the sound completely would be my advice.

On 2016 Chausson 515 Welcome (fixed bed) the pump is fitted under the non travelling seat (with the heater return), so very easy to access, and fitted on a metal plate with anti vibration rubber standoffs. The noise is fairly negligible in this arrangement.

I presume the pump motor may get fairly warm with extended use, so I'd be careful to make sure that any sound deadening left a bit of airflow

That only applies to pressurised systems, switched systems only operate when the tap is operated

I would not know about them having only ever worked with proper systems for the last 35 years? So you don't have a pump then, is it gravity fed?

There are two types of water system fitted to vans, pressurised where the the water system is maintained at a preset pressure and the pump is switched by a pressure switch. The other system the pump is switched by micro switches in the taps. With a pressurised system if you have a leak the pump will come on immediately as the pressure drops, but in a switched system it will just leak when the pump is on. Our last van was pressurised, but the present one is switched.

Our last van had pressurised system with an external pump. Noisy, especially when flushing the loo in the middle of the night. Also meant that a small leak caused a major problem.

Our present van has microswitch system with a submersible pump. Much quieter.

I know which I prefer!
