Hi

Few things to try before taking the pump out,

Do you have a city/fill valve connection to allow water hook up.? If so is this set to City?
Do you have an outside shower? This is usually the lowest point and the best one to run to "bleed" the system, or low point drain, ( not the tank drain)
Can you see the filter on the pump inlet, it is usually clear plastic, is it full of water? If not unscrew it with the pump off, and it should fill up, then re tighten, opening the low point drain, with the pump on, may also fill the water filter

Trust this helps

A long time now
Hi, I don't have an RV but if pump keeps doing its job when no tap used I would check all pipe work for minor leakage somewhere on the system as a first measure.

As Mike says I would start looking for a leak in your pipework (done anything near the pipes lately) your pump senses a pressure drop due to water evacuation from the system and tops it up. Next if you ran it dry for a long period the diaphragm may have failed/weakened, this may show as a drop in pressure when using the taps but if very small unlikely? A service kit will give you the bits to fix that if it is.

I'm a newbie
Have you checked all the micro switches on the taps if one is stuck the pump will be running all the time and pump will sound noisy.
