No 12v Help

    need a bit of help please a friend on a site has no 12v elc
    fuse in engine is ok
    the van is a peu boxer 2.5 on a 56plate

    there is no 12v when the engine is running (quite normal in a lot of vans), the fridge does not work on 12v UNLESS the engine is running, what exactly is the problem. Get it down here and I'll see if I can help.

    240v went down when he hook up 240v ok
    but now has no 12v

    does the van have a sargeant controller or similar? may of blown control pcu with the 240v surge

    hi just got this from him
    No got sola panel and running a cigarette connection of battery which is working fine and sola panel control telling me 13.7 volts

    nothing to do with the solar panel, what make 12v controller is fitted? certain control boards are known to be weak and fail if theres a power surge on the 240v mains

    Does he have a switch in the footwell of the habitation entrance ?

    That caught me out when I first got my van. It is for when you leave the van in the dark, it is a master switch for habitation 12v, and on return it is easier than charging about in the dark looking for a light switch.
