Hi there. We are trying to buy a 6 berth motorhome with drop down bed over cab. Ideally a Hymer 644 or 654. But am a struggling to find a good one.
There is Niesmann Bischoff Arto 69g that I've found though that is almost identical to the Hymer layout we are after.
I know nothing about them though but get the impression they are of similar quality to Hymer.
Any help gratefully appreciated
Thank you.
Hannah.

The only thing I remember seeing on here about them is that the windscreen is a national debt to replace, your take out extra insurance on it.

Had my windscreen replaced on Arto 69g 2004 last year £50 excess with Saga.Just questioning that the 6 berth would have seats and belts for six , also sure the weight would be to much even if its uprated to 3850kg.

That's a cracking van. It's built on the facelift Ducato, with the older (and arguably better) cabinets. Not too many around...

Hi @Hanski Robert Clark is correct N+B are the vey top on the Hymer group, one big difference is that the walls on the Arto are alluminuim inside and out and obsolutely no wood in the structure other than the garage floor depending on age so make sure that is dry. Windscreens are expensive but that why you pay insurance just make sure you have unlimited cover, the side windows are double glazed and the seals can breakdown causing them to mist up inside about £1600 to £2000 per side for a dealer to sort or easy DIY for between a few £ for a DG specialist to re-seal them or £100 is you break the glass and have to have complete new ones made.

I cannot add much to what Robert Clark and Martin have said.

I was looking for Hymer B644 and as soon as I saw the Arto 69 I switched my search. In my opinion better quality.

I would just emphasise what Martin said about the wall and roof construction of a double(inner and outer) skin sandwich construction, because it has its own structural strengh needing no supporting timbers, also if it did leak, unlikely, there is nothing to be damaged.

We have had ours for nearly 8 years and it has been great and still looks good at 13 years old.

Even with older ones you are still buying long-term quality and I think that depreciated prices for the Arto 69 and B644 are about the same.

Our Arto is 69GL i.e. 'L'-shaped lounge. I thought they all are, like the B644, so I do not see how they could be 6-berth, but as somebody said there will not be 6 seat-belts for travel.

We bought it !!!
It's great but we want to fit 2 rear facing seat belts to the dinette seats.
It already has a 3 point one on the outside and lap belt on inside forward facing seats.
We want the same on the rear facing seats.
Does anyone have experience of this ?
I have a garage looking into it and they say they can do it but they are concerned about liability.
Many thanks.

You might be better starting a new thread to illicit more replies or try the search option above, adding seat belts has come up before.
