We promised grandson a weekend away, we did,nt want to go too far this time, so headed for Dover. We chose Hawthorn Farm site at Martin Mill. It was a nice site, with a train line VERY nearby.........about twenty feet from our pitch, but with trains only every hour, it was'nt a problem, it actually worked in our favour as the three of us travelled into Deal for £6.60 return.
After a nice afternoon in Deal, we headed back to the MH for tea. In the morning, we used the onsite facilities, then left for Dover Castle.
We decided to turn off, and have a look at the white Cliffs..................five hours later, we crawled back to the MH, gagging for a cuppa and some food. What a brilliant day, stunning scenery over the docks, cracking walks all the way to the lighthouse, we watched the ships, planes, birds etc.........all for four quid parking. Well worth a visit , parking is on the upper car parks if in a MH, you'll need the room for getting out.
