I think the rowing club have a CL which is central for the city, or Fibchal Abbey Farm again by the river, within walking of city. Never stayed on them myself as I live about 12 mile from Durham. I will try and find a link for the rowing club.

Have stayed at the Rowing Club one, nice spot by the river. Last year they were laying out new hard standings so not in the car park now.:thumb:

I'm a newbie
Durham where to stay

Finchale Priory seems like a good location; on a bend in the river Wear and handy for the city. Beware the Park and Ride near the University campus, though; it closes at 7 p.m. and the last bus is at 6.30 or thereabouts. Have a good time!

Baxter Wood farm is a cracking CL in Durham, we always stay there. It is all grass, no electric but there are some cracking walks directly from the site.

Only £5 a night, about 20 mins walk into Durham.

Paul.
