I'm a sort of new guy to campervans/motorhomes. I bought a Mazda Bongo for fun a few years ago & I've definitely got the bug again. So I'm saying hello to one & all. My father & a friend used to build "caravanettes" in the 60s then rent them out in the summer months. I've had caravans for decades but always hankered after trying to build my own campervan. So I've now sold our ultramodern twin axle caravan & bought a very nice (new shape) low mileage LWB Mercedes Sprinter. So far I've had genuine Mercedes opening windows fitted & I'm now gathering the stuff I'll need to convert her during the winter. I've got twin 110amp leisure batteries, a 1000watt inverter, swivel front seats, insulation etc. I've also bought a 2002 donor Bessacarr Cameo caravan for some more expensive kit like fridge & hot water systems etc. All helpful comments or advice would be gratefully received thanks.

    Kind regards....Robert & Hazel.

Sounds like you've got quite a bit of work ahead of you but just think how great it'll be when you've finished.

Hi guys ... I'm jealous ... I'd love to do another conversion! By the way, you've got an interesting second 'aerial' on your roof, very realistic 'Christmas tree' disguise!!! :D

    Hi
Welcome , we are fairly new here too and have converted our own van last year.
Really enjoyed it and done 6500 miles in it already, all of it in Scotland.
Got a nice van there? nice and big!
So many great layout options to play with!
    Enjoy!
