Joining the Family

Hello all
My name is Eddie and i've just joined 'The family of Motorhomers' (hope i'm not going to be the Black Sheep).
I'm a 75 year old widower with a 4 year old Staffie and we're hoping to do a lot of travelling around UK. It was a toss-up between a canal barge and the Hymer 525. Jesse (the staffie) opted for the Hymer since she can sit in the passenger seat like Lady Muck and not be tempted to jump out onto a nearby towpath.
I see a great big 'learning curve' ahead but am looking forward to it!
