Looking to buy one soon!!
Exp
I'm a newbie
Hi All,

I am looking to buy my first Motorhome, I have found a Tiffin Alegro 1989 model that i like the look of and seems to tick all the right boxes for me.

Can anyone advise on any areas where they suffer from issues and are parts stupidly expensive to get hold off.

In terms of usage I plan to use the RV maybe 3-4 times a year mainly to travel over to france for two weeks of the year and a few weekend trips in the uk such as The Goodwood Festival Of Speed.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

Richard

Hi and welcome to fun.

I am sure someone will be along to answer your questions soon.

Check for damp and even pay the AA, RAC etc for a vehicle inspection if you dont have someone knowledgeable to do it for you.

Make sure everything works - the cooker, the heating the hot water etc.

Beds, try them out are they the right size for whoever is going to sleep in it.

Jim does a great motorhome buyers guide and check list.

Good luck and hope you find what you want.

Dont forget that theres plenty of meets and rallies to attend and some you can take a tent to or book a static.

There is always the Peterborough motorhome show end of April that has a really good range of vehicles for sale too.

Hi, I used to own a 1989 Tiffin Allegro. A great bus and I was sorry to see it go. Mine was the basement model with the Cummins 5.9 turbo diesel. What actualy would you like to know about them.
If its the one below and the seller has looked after it as I did, which I believe he did, then its a good un.

Hi and Welcome, that RV has been a popular model in the UK, used to see lots of them, but not so many these days. I've sat in a few and they look very well made; but have no idea about ownership issues. Any motorhome that old, needs a very careful look at before purchase, but there is no reason that a good example could not go on and give many more years service. :thumb:
