Hi ardgarten and welcome, just to make you really feel at home I’d like to ask your advice straight away.

I’m running my IBM 8086 with 64mb Ram and 104Mb hard drive.
I purchased it new in 1990 and it cost a kings ransom hence my reluctance to upgrade.

My problem is I can still only run Win 3.1 and my steam driven modem coupled causes problems when I enter the Quiz on Thursday nights. By the time I get the first question everyone else has gone to bed then they announce the winners while I’m typing in the answer to question 2.

Last week I came last with 1 point………but I’d only answered 1 question surely that makes me the winner.

Answer honestly do you think…

1. its all a fix

2. I need to upgrade to 128Mb Ram

No chance of LAN, usb etc etc. Could be a noisy fone line. It's always good to upgrade RAM and (depending on the motherboard of course) where were you thinking of buying it? However, instead of placing the blame on everybody and everything else perhaps you need a touch typing course to increase your speed
