looking for purchasing advice of first camper where to buy and what to look for, prefer vw t4 lwb for 2 persons preferably pop top, open to options

Hi and welcome to the site. The motorhome buyer's guide will have a lot of answers for you, see advert under sponsored links.
Hopefully you will find the van you want in Ireland so no too far to go if you have problems. If you are a competent mechanic/DIYer then there are bargains to be had on preloved and eBay. If you are not a mechanic then buying privately is fraught with danger as there is no come back once bought, in that case use a reputable dealer. Funster can advise on whom to avoid should you mention a rogue dealer. Are you looking for a ready built, home built or maybe even part converted. There are kits available to fit out your own van if you fancy that. So lots of choices, let us know what you need, what you would like, and maybe what your budget is that would help. Also your location you say Ireland which leads me to believe you are in the North Rather than Eire. If you are prepared to buy in the UK reg in the north would be easy, in the South more difficult. So do let us know what is what.
