Hi, we bought a 1995 Fiat Ducato Wineberg Toskana motorhome yesterday. It is the first one we have ever owned and we do not have a clue.

Unfortunately the owners handbook is in German and despite trawling the net have been unable to find any help regarding an English edition.

What I am totally baffled by is the control panel and what the different switches are for. Does anyone have one of these or something similar that could help me out with this problem.

If posting an image of the panel would help I could take a photo tomorrow.

    Thanks in advance.

lots of German speakers on here so a decent legible photo would really help, failing that a list of words needing translating.

    Control Panel Help

Hi all, will really appreciate any help on the following. I have manage to work some of it out but not all.

    My questions are as follows:

When I am parked up outside my house and not plugged into the mains should the large switch bottom right, with the 12v battery symbol be on or off?
What should it be set to if I hook up?
The light above this switch is lit green, what does that mean and is this an indicator for the leisure battery or the vehicle battery?
What is the on off switch next to this indicator for?
The rocker switch with the 3 symbols above it: If I switch it to II the 12V light is red, does this mean my vehicle battery is getting flat or is it for the leisure battery and what does the I and II signify.
What exactly do the red buttons for the various fuses do.

Sorry to be such a pain but I am totally clueless and the hand book is no help at all as it is for a Fiat Ducato van.

Hi Lesley, from what I think I can tell
top left switch to turn water pump on
second left looks like switch for waste level and state of battery level (lights above)
third switch poss to turn heater on
forth is light to say battery charging?
straight below forth -looks like it could be switch to turn heating or boiler on or poss turn on/off all 12v power
bottom row are fuses Take out one at a time and see what works/does not work

Hi Terry, many thanks just to clarify:
second left looks like switch for waste level and state of battery level (lights above) I am sure you mean leisure battery but just to make sure is it?
forth is light to say battery charging? No can't be that as it is lit green and not on charge. It can be pressed and just pops out again doing nothing.
straight below forth -looks like it could be switch to turn heating or boiler on or poss turn on/off all 12v power. If it was the latter does that mean I only have this switched to on when hooked up?

I also asked in another feed the following: As the sate of battery light is red when I press this switch it means the leisure battery is low, would hooking up to mains also charge the leisure battery and would this be automatic.

Thanks, sorry to be a pain.

left rocker switch = water pump with 'on' indicator light above

centre rocker = fresh/waste water level and battery state. press lelt hand for fresh and waste....green light ok....red light = fresh low/waste nearly full. press right hand side for battery state...green ok/ red low volts

    right rocker = heater on/off

green indicator....could be panel on/off indicator

lower buttons may be mini brreakers, not wired fuses.

    left (1)= fridge
next right (2) = heater control/ignition and lights
next three (3/4/5) = ? (could be 12v sockets, aerial booster, cooker ignition etc)
large rocker turns off breakers 3/4/5

truma vent rotary knob = fan speed...red slide switch position = up for manual fan speed control, centre = fan off, lower = auto fan speed control

truma boiler rotary knob = temperature selecter.....red light = flame out/failure, green light = boiler lit

dont rely on the water/waste indicators being anywhere near accurate, they very rarely are.

    Hi Guys
I have seen one of these before, all be it some time ago, connect up to the Mains, put a voltmeter across the leisure battery, take a reading, if the battery has power in it, you should get a reading of around 12 volts, or less depending on it's state of charge.

Now switch on the large switch bottom right, this should turn on the leisure battery charger, take another reading the voltage should go up, if the charger is working ok, your control pannel is the fully electronic type with leisure battery control, so you should be ok, for a bit, but it would be worthwhile having the system tested.

If you dont have a meter, put on some of the internal lights, then turn on the large charge switch on the pannel you should see the lights go brighter as the charging system kicks in.

    Good Luck

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply. I have got a bit further since you wrote this and discovered that the large black rocker switch turns off all internal power ie lights to the van. It is an old girl so old type of panel 1995.

I hooked up for a few hours with the transformer in the wardrobe on and all the lights on the panel are now green so think that has done the trick for now.

Will have to buy a voltmeter to get a better reading. Cheers.:thumb:
