Afraid I can't help with the drive away awning. I did have one once but found it more trouble than it was worth. My view is that mobility and the ability to be pitched just by putting on the handbrake is a key feature of using a motorhome. however I know some others on here use them so you might get a more helpful answer.

My advice would be to have a good read of the threads on this forum and subscribe. There is far more accumulated knowledge here than pretty much any book on motorhoming could hope to hold.

as for drive away awnings, it depends on what you want. Many of the older style suited to your van can be found on EBay at good prices. Or look at the classified ads on the forum, as there is one for sale there too. Dont rush into buying everything you can think of though as you will learn from experience thay many things that appeared to be a must have at the time you purchased it never or rarely gets used. Try the van without a driveaway first if you can. Obviously if you know you have a specific need for an awning, like extra room for kids, dogs etc then no problem

Just remembered, the old renault trafic had a hinged side door, so you will not find it easy fitting a drive away to the van. It may suit you better to get a dome tent type, as these pack away much smaller and lighter for transport in a panel van conversion (PVC)

Hi welcome to the forum, drive away awnings can be very heary and a pain to keep putting up although very useful, but you will find those dome shaped tents ....the type that look as if it is a pop up style, much simpler and lighter to use :thumb::thumb::thumb:
