Hi fellow motorhomers.

Well, after two years of talking about it, we have finally done it. A 15-year-old Autocruise Valentine (which looks and drives years younger) is now taking up pride of place outside our house.

Next year we are heading off to France and Italy for the best part of two months (July / August) with our 12-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son - so exciting. Any tips would be gratefully received (I have already seen the really helpful France/Italy excel spreadsheet that some kind soul has posted in the resources section).

Mid July (Bastille day) to mid August (Sat after the Feast of St John) are the main French weeks however judging by when the ACSI discount cuts off and back in again, it's after 5 July and 31st Aug - so anyway campsites in big holiday places will be packed and expensive. That's true of the summer school holidays anyway wherever you go.but if you go to places that aren't quite so popular , like not on the absolutely shortest route between A and B - you'll still have loads of choice.
