1 day, 25 years towing
Hi,
Just took delivery of our MH yesterday after owing caravans for the past 25 years !
We are planning a few local trips then our first long distance trip for next year. We plan to go to Norway and would welcome advise from those who have been there and done that.

Since the ferries from Newcastle to Norway appear not to run now we are considering some options:
Hull to Denmark or Dover/Calais and drive to Denmark
Use to either the bridge or a ferry from Denmark to Sweden or
find a ferry from Denmark that will takes us to Norway

Any suggestions on what to do or what to avoid would be welcome.

Degsie

just a thought......how about Newcastle to Hamburg ?

is that still running as you'd be nearer the scandinavian countries than holland or france.

or The DFDS Seaways Harwich-to-Esbjerg ferry
a bit closer to home for you.

EDIT newcastle to hamburg only runs from april to september.....sorry.

Hi Degsie, :welcome: to Motorhome Fun cant help with Norway, but when we went to Denmark we went from Harwich with Stena, been a couple of times with them and you can use your Tesco Club Card points.:winky:::bigsmile: If you use that crossing its worth booking club class seats on the day crossing, you get 3 hours free wi fi each (so take an 2 to 3 pin adapter) and all the free coffee and tea ect.::bigsmile: Bob.

7 Years after 5 years with caravan.
Hiya Degsie,
Haven't done the last bit, but last year we 'did' Sweden and went Harwich to Esjberg then drove through Denmark to Frederikshavn, stayed the night just south of Frederikshavn and then took the ferry to Goteburg.
Stena also run a ferry from Frederikshavn to Oslo. So that could be a plan.
Ferries from Denmark to Norway - Book a ferry from Denmark to Norway

I'm sure there are other options, but at least now you know it can be done.

Have fun.

John
