Never owned a motor home...but wife and I are retiring and believe it would be fun to own and travel our great country. before starting out on this new adventure, any suggestions on pre-planning? like budget and how much does it cost to operate monthly? Just trying to make up my mind if this new adventure is for us.

Ask plenty of questions.

Look at as many layout`s as you can, to detemine which will suit you,

How often are you going to use a M.H., Will it be your only form of transport.

And the obvious, How much do you want to spend..

You will get most unbiased answers on this site..

hi , welcome . it all depends on your life style . a trip to morocco taking 6 months cost last winter about 4to 5 grand. due to the pound falling . before we used to say about 3.500. hardly ever eat out in europe . few times in maroc. that figure is diesel,ferries n living. only used one campsite for two nights so didnt spend much there. maybe other winter travellers can say what they spend and how. could be cheaper to winter in spain /portugal but colder.
